A trip I took when I was sixteen, was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Our group traveled and explored in Paris before taking a night train through France to end our journey in Nice where we relaxed on the beaches of the Mediterranean.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacré-Cœur, was one of our first destinations on our trip. We traveled up the 300 steps in front of the church, giving the church its proper entrance.

The Notre Dame Cathedral was one of the most extravagant pieces of architecture we visited on our trip. This medieval Catholic Church holds beautiful pieces of gothic architecture, sculpture and stained glass.

On a boat tour on the Seine River, we were able to see the Eiffel Tower from a different perspective. The boat tour lasted about an hour and offered views of other parts of Paris as well.

In addition to climbing to the very top of the Eiffel Tower, our group shopped on the streets of Paris for authentic Parisian cuisine and fresh fruits and held a picnic on the lawn in front of the tower.

After taking a night train across France, we arrived to the Mediterranean coast of Nice, France by morning. Here the city had beaches for exploring, great night-life, and many stores and shops.  On the beach, you can see the extremely blue waters as well as the many tourists native to France or from foreign countries.

On a one-day excursion, we visited Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. This was one of the oldest medieval towns on the French Riviera, and is known for its modern and contemporary art and pretty walkways.

Another one of the great aspects of our France trip, was the amazing cuisine. We were able to try France’s famous dishes like cafe au lait and escargo.
